During my research I found a handy website with lots of film opening film titles which will give me ideas of what to include in my opening. Here is a link to the website - http://www.artofthetitle.com/titles/
The Last of Us.

From this website I scanned through title sequences to fit my genre, I found a lot of title sequences to give me ideas, the first being The Last of Us. The Last of Us fits the genre of post-apocalyptic as it is about the aftermath of a zombie outbreak.
http://www.artofthetitle.com/title/the-last-of-us/- here is a link to the film titles.
This particular title sequence fits post-apocalyptic very well as it adds tension and mystery to the film, this title sequence makes the viewer wants to keep watching or playing in this instance.
Text.
The text used in the title sequence is big and bold to represent the scale of the apocalypse The text also switches between white to black representing before and after the apocalypse.
Music.
The music added to the sequence adds emotion and a further depth to the titles. The music included in this title sequence is slow and depressing rerlating to the mood of the events that take place throughout. Music is a good idea to include in our opening becuase it creates meaning and sets the mood for the film.
Voice over.
Various news broadcasts are played over the title sequence along with the music, this is a great idea to use in our opening becuase it makes the movie look realistic and it also give the viewer an idea of what is to come. Depressng music, bold text and news boradcasts are all conventions in movie openings.
Graphics.
The graphics added to the title sequence are very effective as they give visuals to the credits and make it authentic, the graphics are very good in this opening and we could use something like this in ours.
Overall this is a very good title sequence and I have gained a lot of ideas to use in my opening.
