Exerimenting with the camera + software.

On the third lesson of planning we decided to do some experimenting with the cameras and editing software to test out different shots we could use in the opening and how they would be edited togehter. We want to show of our skills in the opening as much as possible by having a range of good shots and camera work along with great editing skills. To do this sucessfully we need to practice and test things out, therefore we decided before filming that we would use the camera and editing software to try things out and see what looks good and what doesent work instead of doing things wrong in our opening.

We practiced many different shots and angles including, close ups, over the shoulder and some match on action. We also edited the footage together and tested some of the software out on Preimere Pro. After editing the footage we realised we had made some mistakes. We wanted to make a scene in the opening where Abbie was putting her coat on, howver we wanted to include various amounts of shots to make it visually interesting. We tried to shoot this however while editing we noticed it wasnt very smooth and looked  quite stiff. The solution to this is that on every shot we should of had her puttting her whole coat on every time and choosing shots to use in the footage, instead of this we did a seperate shot for her putting her arms in the coat seperately thereofre it didn't flow.

The whole point of the exercise was to test some angles out and the editing software to make sure we make mistakes now rather than later and so that we can work out what angles fit best. Here's the clip:
